Boulderwald
Taster course · Introduction

Learn to boulder outdoors:
your course on the rock.

You know how the gym works. In my outdoor bouldering course I'll show you how the rock works: 6 hours bouldering on real rock, outdoors, with a maximum of 8 people. From €79.

How it works

Bouldering for beginners: your first course on the rock.

1

Theory session

We start with a short but important theory session: how to read a boulder outdoors (the holds won't show you the way), plus safety, using the crash pad and falling technique. That's the foundation — then we head to the rock.

2

First lines

I pick out the boulders that match your level. No pressure. We try things, I coach live, you learn by bouldering.

3

Technique & tactics

Feeling the friction, keeping your balance, building body tension. Everything you can't practise in the gym, you learn here.

4

Free bouldering

Now you know how it works. I'm there, watching, giving feedback. You boulder at your own pace.

Frequently asked questions

Before you book.

I've been climbing in the gym for 3 months. Am I too inexperienced?

No. That's exactly who this is for: gym climbers heading outdoors for the first time. I explain everything that's different outside.

What do I need to bring?

Climbing shoes (your own, or rent a pair for €4), comfortable clothes, weather layers, water and snacks. I bring the crash pads and safety equipment.

How long does the course last?

The bouldering workshop takes about 6 hours including the trip to the spot, the introduction, bouldering and a wrap-up. You'll head home exhausted but happy.

Is this a climbing course or a bouldering course?

A pure bouldering course: we climb without a rope at jumping height, protected by crash pads. If you're looking for a climbing course and want to try bouldering, you're in exactly the right place.

Does it make sense for children too?

From age 12 and with a basic level of fitness, yes. Have a quick word with me beforehand and we'll work out whether it's a good fit.

Out of the gym.

I'm looking forward to showing you real rock.
