The regions

Five regions.

All with real spots I know personally and visit regularly.

Taunus
All levels · Day trip

Taunus

Quartzite & slate on Frankfurt's doorstep

I know hardly anyone from the Rhine-Main area I can't show at least one good spot in the Taunus. Quartzite and slate, shady forests, a short drive. Ideal for day trips.

Eifel
All levels · Day trip / weekend

Eifel

Basalt in volcano country

The Eifel surprises me again and again. Where we boulder it's basalt: volcanic rock, quiet, little traffic, great friction. One of my favourite spots for groups.

Pfalz
All levels · Day trip

Pfalz

Red sandstone, wine-country flair

The Pfalz sandstone is soft, warm and grippy. Perfect for beginners, but with enough to offer advanced climbers too. Plus: great food in the region.

Odenwald
All levels · Day trip

Odenwald

Granite, big blocks, plenty of variety

The Odenwald is large and has plenty to offer: tall blocks, crash-pad-friendly landing zones, quiet spots off the tourist trails. I come here regularly.

Schwarzwald
All levels · Weekend

Schwarzwald

Sandstone near Calw, nature at its purest

My first choice in the south for weekend trips. The sandstone near Calw has a special quality, barely any other boulderers, genuine natural character. Ideal when you really want to get away.

Questions

Quickly answered.

Day trip or taster course: what's the difference?

None at all, it's the same offer: an outdoor day trip (€79 per person), whether you're outdoors for the first time or already have experience. I pick the spots and lines to match your level and coach you live. For complete beginners it's the perfect first taste, for experienced climbers a tour on their level.

Can I request a region that isn't on the list?

Of course. I also know spots in the Spessart, Rhön and other regions. Just give me a call and we'll see what fits.

How many people can come along?

A maximum of 8. That way I can really coach everyone, and we sometimes have a spot all to ourselves.

What do I need for a day trip?

Climbing shoes, weatherproof clothing, water and snacks. I bring the crash pads. No gear of your own needed.

Get out there. I know where.

Pick a date or give me a call and I'll tell you quickly which region suits you.
