Outdoor bouldering near Frankfurt: short drive, real rock
Frankfurt itself has no rock of its own. But for outdoor bouldering you're at the Taunus in 30–60 minutes, the Odenwald in 45–90 minutes and the Pfalz in 60–90 minutes.

I guide a lot of bouldering day trips especially for people from Frankfurt: leave in the morning, back in the afternoon. You don't even need a day off work.
I live in Gießen (40 min to the north) and know the routes there inside out.

Taunus
The closest region: quartzite & slate. 30–60 min, great friction.
Odenwald
A bit further, but more variety and less traffic.
Pfalz
90 min away, but worth it as a day trip, especially for beginners.
Quickly answered.
I'm from Frankfurt. Which region do you recommend?
For a first trip: the Taunus. Short drive, the best quartzite. Then the Odenwald or Pfalz if you want more.
Can I still go bouldering after work?
In summer, yes. The Taunus is easy to reach in the afternoon. Let me know and we'll see what works.
I guide in 5 regions.
