I guide all five with groups too. You don't have to find the spots yourself.

1. Taunus
Quartzite & slate, close to Frankfurt, great friction. My home turf.
2. Eifel
Basalt, quiet, little traffic.
3. Odenwald
Granite, big blocks, plenty of variety.
4. Pfalz
Red sandstone, southern flair, beginner-friendly.
5. Schwarzwald
Sandstone near Calw, seclusion, genuine natural character.

Which area do you recommend for beginners?
The Taunus for a short drive, the Pfalz for beginner-friendly sandstone, the Odenwald for variety.
Are there bouldering areas beyond the top 5?
Yes: the Spessart, Rhön and Sauerland, for example. I know a few spots there but guide there less often. It's possible on request.
